Natural and Organic Skin Care by Leiania House of Beauty

How many products do you slap on your skin everyday? Chances are, you follow a routine like this:

We are all so concerned about keeping our bodies healthy by eating nutritious food, but we sometimes forget that our skin needs to be given the same careful attention too! A lot of beauty products nowadays contain chemicals that can be harmful not only to our skin, but also to our bodies. After all, our skin absorbs the ingredients of the products we use, and when we use products that have toxic substances, these eventually end up in our bodies. That’s why it’s really important to use organic products that are pure and made from plant-derived ingredients.

Here are the items that were sent to me. Please note that these are my opinions and the effect of the products may vary from one person to another.

GoOat & Moringa Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner with Moroccan Argan Oil (PHP 295 each)

I have colored hair which needs extra care (by the way, that rhymed!). I heard that you’re not supposed to wash your hair everyday because it strips your hair of its natural oils and hence, makes your hair dry. In a tropical country such as the Philippines, though, you’ll always feel the urge to shower and wash your hair! Since the GoOat & Moringa shampoo and conditioner are free of harsh chemicals, these were safe to be used everyday. It’s even safe for babies to use! My only complaint is that it has very little lather and bubbles so I feel like I need to put more shampoo and conditioner on my hair. Other than that, my hair felt clean and soft after I had a bath!

Botanical Healing Soap (PHP 370)

I used to have annoying eczema so my dermatologist told me to use very gentle products for my skin. I couldn’t use just any soap out there, so I was a little hesitant to try Leiania’s soaps. But Favs (owner of Leiania House of Beauty) recommended that I start my Leiania beauty journey with the Botanical Healing Soap. She said that this was especially formulated for people with very sensitive skinand those with skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and the like. It’s even ideal for babies. True enough, it worked like magic on my skin! People with eczema are advised to moisturize multiple times a day, and the Botanical Healing Soap did a great job at making my skin less dry and itchy. This is best used with Leiania’s Power Herb Skin Healing Lotion.

Almond Coffee Soap Gentle Natural Exfoliating Soap (PHP 255)

It’s a soap and body scrub in one! Literally, the top part is made of pure soap and the bottom part has exfoliating coffee grains. So cool! I was so fascinated when I tried it! This soap is perfect for those who don’t have the time to go for a scrub separately. I may not see it with my naked eye, but I felt like this soap was subtly removing my dead skin. With that nice coffee scent, I feel like my skin becomes more energized when I shower with this.

Kiwi and Tea Tree Green Clay Bar Acne Clearing & Healing Soap (PHP 190)

There were days when a nasty pimple would pop up on my face, and I would use this in hopes of making it disappear. Unfortunately, it didn’t. The stubborn pimple just kept growing! But using the soap did prevent further breakout, and it did help in slightly drying out the pimple. I guess it is better to use this for acne prevention rather than expect it to work as an acne treatment.

Avo Coconut Watermelon Creme Soap (PHP 365)

Avocado, coconut, and watermelon — extracts from fruits that are good for the body were combined to create this delightful soap! Aside from the Botanical Healing Soap, this one’s my favorite soap, mainly because it moisturizes my skin really well and it smells wonderful! Also, since it’s made with avocado oil, coconut creme, and fresh watermelon juice, this soap made me feel extra fragrant and fresh.

Bio Fruit Skin Whitening Soap (PHP 200)

Leiania claims that it helps with lightening dark spots and pimple marks. I didn’t use this on my face, though, so I can’t vouch for its effectiveness on lightening dark spots. I used this for my body, and I loved its smooth and milky texture. I like how it glided on my skin and how soft my skin felt while showering with this. This contains Vitamin C so with continued use, it will really help whiten one’s skin.

Eco Deo Roll On (PHP 275)

This deodorant can be used by both men and women because it has no strong and distinct scent. I am very active and this deodorant has succeeded in keeping me fresh and odor-free all day.

The Flower Pot Gentle Feminine Wash (PHP 100)

“Flower Pot.” That’s a pretty cute name for a douche! I used this everyday and had no problems. I felt fresh and clean, and never had any episodes of itchiness or infection. It smelled nice but not overpowering, so I could tell that it was still gentle on the intimate area. Even young girls can use this!

Hy’de No More Blemish Acne Free Face Masque (PHP 410)

Like the Kiwi and Tea Tree Soap, this is a good product to use for the prevention of acne formation. It says on the packaging that you will notice that the reduction of the size of the pimple will be visibly noticeable even with one use, but sadly, this was not the case with me. In fact, the opposite happened. My pimple just got bigger! I don’t think it’s because of the masque, but it’s just how my pimple is. Once it pops, it can’t stop… growing. Nevertheless, I still used this masque because it did make my skin feel smoother and more radiant.

Liquoriced Coffee Whitening Scrub (PHP 310)

Getting a body scrub in a spa can get expensive, but with Leiania’s coffee scrub, you can just do it on your own without having to spend too much. Really, this scrub is just as good as the ones I’ve tried in other spas. Its exfoliating power is marvelous! After using this scrub, no kidding, my skin felt like butter. Because of its aromatic scent, which is like a mix of coffee and mint, I feel like this scrub perked up my skin. The only downside of this scrub is that your bathroom floor will be a little messy with all the coffee scrub extracts. I only used this for my body because the granules are a little too hard for facial use.

Milky Apricot Face & Body Scrub (PHP 410)

This is a delicate scrub that contains 50% fresh goat’s milk, so imagine how soft your skin can feel and how nice it will smell after using this scrub. The granules in this scrub are smaller and less abrasive than those in the coffee scrub, so it’s good for those who prefer a more gentle exfoliant for both the body and face. I love how this product is so mild but so effective in cleaning and revitalizing my skin.

Dark Chocolate Face & Body Collagen Scrub (PHP 410)

This scrub looks like real dark chocolate so I was so tempted to eat it! (Don’t worry, I didn’t.)  You know what they say about chocolates… they make you happy! I know I was happy when I was slapping this on! Why wouldn’t I be? I smelled so sweet! Also, my skin was moisturized well after using this.

Sun Glow Sunblock Gel (PHP 295)

This is a good sunblock for everyday use. It doesn’t feel too thick or greasy when applied to skin, unlike other sunscreens. The light consistency of this sunblock gel makes my skin feel hydrated and protected at the same time. It also contains aloe vera extracts which can make your skin healthier. Because of the presence of zinc oxide in this sunscreen, it really offers high UVA/UVB protection. A little goes a long way with every pump so one bottle of sunblock gel can last months. I’m just not a fan of its smell. I don’t know why, but the smell reminded me of clay!

Age Defy Kiwi Fruity Facial Wash (PHP 285)

This is a gentle facial wash for all types of skin but advisable for acne-prone and sensitive skin. I love its citrusy scent! It’s not a foamy facial wash but it’s okay, as there are other facial cleansers with the same consistency (e.g. Cetaphil) but can do the job well. And because it is made of natural ingredients, it’s safe to use more than twice a day and it will not dry out your skin.

Age Defy Tamarind & Kiwi Fruit Toner (PHP 245)

Anti-aging, hydrating, smoothing, toning, and moisturizing — so many benefits in one bottle. I used this toner after cleansing my face with a facial wash. Unlike some toners that have harsh chemicals (you can tell just by smelling them!), this one felt very mild. It was just like putting on fruits on my face! It didn’t dry my skin and in fact, my skin felt squeaky clean and smooth after every use. Using this after removing my makeup was something I looked forward to because it felt like I was putting on vitamins on my face. The fruity scent also made me feel my skin healthy!

Vit C & E Collagen Serum Concentrate (PHP 275)

You’re never too young to use collagen-rich products! This product is packed with anti-oxidants, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E. I noticed that my skin glowed after using this for a while. Its texture is watery so it didn’t make my face oily at all.

Bearberry & Argan Oil Eye Crème (PHP 210)

Argan Oil has become so popular because of its miraculous health benefits, so when I got this eye cream with argan oil, I was thrilled! I applied this around my eye area before going to bed. I go on the computer a lot so this really helps in soothing my tired eyes. The smell is also fantastic! In fact, every time I use it, my husband always comments, “You smell nice!” and then asks me to put some around his eyes as well! Haha! It’s a small pot but you only need to dab a little around your eyes so it can last for a really, really long time! I got this last February and I still have it now (and it’s already August!).

Power Herb Skin Recovery Lotion (PHP 210)

THIS! This is my favorite Leiania product because it made the impossible possible! I mentioned earlier that I have eczema and my dermatologist said that there is really no way to treat eczema. I was bummed because I was going crazy with the itch and I was using so many products all at the same time — a gentle soap, a bath oil, lotion, and anti-histamine tablets — and it wasn’t going away. I used the Power Herb Skin Recovery Lotion and what do you know?! My eczema disappeared! Well, I don’t know if it actually disappeared or it’s still there but not as bad as before, but the important thing is, I stopped itching after I used this for a long time. I don’t like putting on lotion, to be honest. I hate the greasy feel. But this one has a soft yet matte texture so I didn’t need to let it dry for a long time. It saved me so much time in getting ready and getting dressed!

Ultra Moist & Tone Whitening Lotion (PHP 380)

I used this lotion after I ran out of the Power Herb Skin Recovery Lotion. After our Bali trip, I got a bit dark from all the walking around under the sun. Over time, this lotion helped bring back my lighter shade and I noticed that my skin color has slowly (though not completely) evened out. It’s a nice lotion to use for moisturizing. The bottle is a bit hard to squeeze, though. I feel like there was still some product left at the bottom of the bottle but I couldn’t get it all out.

Ultra Tone Whitening Face Creme (PHP 400)

It left my skin moisturized and dewy but not super oily. I used this sparingly because I didn’t want my face to look too white, but if you want your face to get lighter faster, this is safe to use both at daytime and nighttime! I guess it could be used for other areas of the body that need lightening too. And did I mention that it smells delightful? You’ll surely want this on your skin!

8-in-1 BB+CC Glow Creme (PHP 550)

This BB+CC creme is a good moisturizer and alternative to wearing light makeup. It has a light coverage so it still looks natural. It also has SPF 35 so it’s ideal to use when you go out in the sun. I just wish it would come in other shades too because this was too light for my skin tone.

Intense White & Tone 10 Body Peel Gel Lotion (PHP 885)

This one really IS intense! I used this on my underarms and elbows and after just a few days, I started peeling like crazy! That’s when I knew that this stuff works! But because I got annoyed with all the huge flakes of skin on my body, I had to discontinue using it before re-using it. I wouldn’t suggest using this for the face because of its powerful peeling action but it’s best used for areas like the underarms, elbows, knees, and even scars.

UV Natural LipSUNSAFE Lip Balm (PHP 810)

SPF 20 is pretty good for a lip balm! I find it a little overpriced for the size, though. Also, it left what looked like whitish film on my lips when I applied it. I think this is better to use over lipstick than on its own.

Rose Pearl Whitening Eco Organic Face Powder (PHP 125)

For days when I just want a no makeup makeup look and just need something to combat shine, I used the Rose Pearl Whitening Eco Organic Face Powder. I let my skin breathe from time to time so on those days, I just put this on. It has a very light and dainty smell so it really doesn’t feel like you’re wearing makeup at all!

Beet Berry Lip & Cheek Stain (PHP 130)

Another product from Leiania that can help you achieve the no makeup makeup look is the Beet Berry Lip & Cheek Stain. I’m not sure if it’s just me, though, but it was a little too light for my lips and cheeks. There was barely any difference! That’s a good thing if that’s the look you’re going for but I just want a little more color for me.

Micellar Water Eau De Fleaur Cleansing & Toning Organic Floral Water (PHP 600)

There used to be a time when I was just too tired and lazy to wash off all my makeup before going to bed, so I ended up sleeping with makeup on. Not good! Thank God for this no-rinse cleansing and toning water, I can remove all my makeup without having to go through the trouble of washing my face with soap. It’s very convenient to use! It instantly makes my skin feel cleaner. However, because I am more paranoid now about breaking out, what I do is I use this makeup remover first, and then, when most of my makeup has been removed, I clean my face with a facial wash. It can just be used on its own, though. But for thicker and waterproof makeup, you need to apply more of this.

Vein & Leg Advanced Rejuvenation Creme (PHP 1,760)

If you’re wearing heels all the time or if you’re tired from walking around all day, this creme can relieve sore legs and tired feet. It has a nice and mild cooling sensation so your legs and feet are not only moisturized, but also refreshed. It also has a calming scent, like a combination of citronella, aloe vera, and fresh flowers.

Leiania not only has topical beauty products but has supplements too for overall health and wellness!

Vein & Leg Support Supplement

I have yet to try this! But if you’re worried about varicose veins, this is best used together with the Vein & Leg Creme.

L-Glutathione with Moringa Oleifera plus Milk Thistle

I don’t really have much faith in Glutathione tablets but I tried this anyway. I can’t tell if it actually lightened my skin but I did feel that my skin was glowing when I used this. My husband would often touch my face and comment about how smooth it is. Plus, it has Moringa Oleifera (a good antioxidant) and Milk Thistle (to lower cholesterol and support liver and kidney health), so these are enough reasons to take these capsules daily.

100% Organic GCA Green Coffee Antioxidant

Mike said he would try this… but he keeps forgetting!

I am satisfied with most of Leiania’s products, and I think that with continued and prolonged use, the benefits of these products would work even better! Leiania gives everyone access to healthy, natural, and organic products at a reasonable price.
